This Louisiana alligator leather strap is crafted in collaboration with Morellato, Italy, using hand-selected hides sourced from the bayou-farmed American Alligator — the same species and specification chosen by the world's most prestigious watchmakers and maisons de luxe for their own exotic leather goods. The Tudor Black Bay takes a 20mm strap on the BB58, BB54, BB Pro and Ranger, and a 22mm on the BB41, BB GMT and BB Chrono. Available in tan, brown, navy and black.

The bayou environment produces a scale pattern that is finer, more consistent, and more architecturally precise than most alternatives. It is the hide that serious collectors and the finest ateliers in Switzerland and Paris have specified for decades.

Scale size runs from larger, bolder patterns through to finer, more refined arrangements, and we progress through the hide from large scales at the lug end to smaller, more delicate scales toward the buckle. No two straps will ever be identical. What arrives is genuinely one of a kind.

Tan against the Black Bay's warm lume and gilt accents is the combination that vintage-minded Tudor collectors have always returned to. Brown for a more formal, dressed-down pairing that suits the steel case across all dials. Navy for something more considered and unexpected against the blue BB58 or the burgundy BB41. Black for those who want the leather to be felt rather than seen.

Every hide is ethically sourced and certified under CITES, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species, as a by-product of regulated supply chains.
