This Louisiana alligator leather strap is crafted in collaboration with Morellato, Italy, using hand-selected hides sourced from the bayou-farmed American Alligator — the same species and specification chosen by the world's most prestigious watchmakers and maisons de luxe for their own exotic leather goods. Available in tan, brown, navy and black.

The bayou environment produces a scale pattern that is finer, more consistent, and more architecturally precise than most alternatives. It is the hide that serious collectors and the finest ateliers in Switzerland and Paris have specified for decades.

What you see in these images is the hide itself. Not embossed, not printed, not replicated. Each scale is raised, individual, and entirely natural. The tonal depth, the texture, the way light moves across the surface at different angles — none of this can be manufactured. It can only be grown, selected, and worked by hand.

Every strap in this collection is chosen and stitched individually by Morellato's artisans in Italy. Only the finest hides make the cut. Because each skin is unique, there will be natural variation between straps. Scale size runs from larger, bolder patterns through to finer, more refined arrangements, progressing through the hide from large scales at the lug end to smaller, more delicate scales toward the buckle. No two straps will ever be identical. What arrives is genuinely one of a kind.

Tan against the Black Bay's warm lume and gilt accents is the combination that vintage-minded Tudor collectors have always returned to. Brown for a more formal, dressed-down pairing that suits the steel case across all dials. Navy for something more considered and unexpected against the blue BB58 or the burgundy BB41. Black for those who want the leather to be felt rather than seen.

Every hide is ethically sourced and certified under CITES, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species, as a by-product of regulated supply chains.

Each strap is individually hand-selected and stitched. Natural variation in scale size, tone, and pattern will occur between straps. This is the nature of genuine exotic leather and the mark of something made by hand rather than by machine.

This strap does not fit: The Pelagos 39 uses 21mm, which is not available in this strap. The original Black Bay Bronze (ref. M79250) uses a non-standard 23mm lug width and is not compatible. The BB58 Bronze (ref. 79012) uses 20mm and fits.

Important: Tudor has introduced 21mm lug width on selected newer Black Bay 41 METAS-certified references (2025 onward). The standard BB41 (ref. 79680, 79683) remains 22mm. If you own a 2025 or later BB41, measure between the inner edges of both lugs to confirm whether your watch is 21mm or 22mm before ordering.
