Size (Lug Width)
How to Find Your Lug Width
The lug width of a watch is the distance (in millimetres) between the two lugs that hold your strap or bracelet in place. Your strap must match this measurement exactly to fit correctly.
What Is Lug Width?
Lug width is measured between the inside edges of the lugs. It is always measured in millimetres, not inches. If your watch has a 20mm lug width, you need a 20mm strap to fit.
The Easy Way (Recommended)
Our clever people at MGBWATCHES have built a handy Strap Size Checker with a database of 40,000+ watches. Simply search your brand, model, or reference number, then select the matching lug width shown. It takes seconds and removes all guesswork.

Two Ways to Find Your Lug Width Manually
Method 1: Online Search
- Locate the exact model or reference number of your watch. This can usually be found on your warranty or authenticity documents.
- Search: [brand] [model number] lug width
- Example: Omega 310.30.42.50.01.001 lug width
Method 2: Measure It Yourself
To measure your lug width accurately, you’ll need the strap or bracelet removed.
- Remove your existing bracelet or strap.
- Measure the distance between the lugs using a ruler or vernier calliper.
- Measure in millimetres only.
For safe, scratch-free removal, we recommend our Bracelet Removal Tool, designed for collectors and everyday use. It makes strap changes quicker, cleaner, and far less stressful.
Strap Size Guidance
- Lug widths are usually whole numbers such as 18mm, 19mm, 20mm, 21mm, or 22mm.
- Our straps are available in 18mm, 19mm, 20mm, 21mm, 22mm, 23mm, and 24mm.
- The strap size you select must match your watch’s lug width exactly.
- Example: If your watch has a 21mm lug width, you need a 21mm strap.
Note: If your lug width is not a whole number (for example 21.5mm), please contact us and we’ll advise the best fit.
