Leather. The Navitimer was designed for the cockpit. Pilots wore leather straps. Brown calfskin or alligator-embossed leather on a Navitimer is the historically correct pairing and still the most refined option for daily wear. Our Morellato Italian calfskin is the standout choice: handmade in Italy, padded, painted edges, and built to develop a patina over months of wear. For a dressier option, the embossed alligator gives the look of exotic leather without the import restrictions. Both available in 22mm and 24mm.
Rubber. FKM rubber is the natural upgrade for the Superocean and Avenger. Both are tool watches built for water and hard use. A quality FKM strap handles everything the factory rubber does but with better comfort, faster drying, and no odour retention. The sailcloth-effect FKM with deployant clasp adds visual texture and a folding clasp that most competitors don't offer at this price point.
Sailcloth. FKM rubber with a sailcloth-embossed texture. The look of woven fabric, the performance of rubber. With a deployant clasp it becomes the most versatile option in the range. On a Navitimer, sailcloth adds texture and visual interest without the moisture problems of genuine fabric. On a Superocean, it bridges sport and smart without committing to either.
NATO and fabric. Less common on Breitling than on Tudor or Omega, but a single-pass woven nylon NATO on a Superocean Heritage works. The Heritage line has enough vintage character to carry it. On the Avenger, a heavy-duty fabric strap suits the watch's military aesthetic.

The current Navitimer B01 43mm takes 22mm. The Navitimer 46mm also takes 22mm. Older Navitimer references may vary. Always check your specific reference number before ordering.
What lug width does the Breitling Superocean take?
The Superocean 42mm and 44mm take 22mm. The Superocean Heritage 42mm takes 22mm. The larger Superocean 46mm and 48mm take 24mm.
What lug width does the Breitling Avenger take?
The Avenger 43mm and 45mm take 22mm. The Avenger 48mm and Super Avenger take 24mm.
Can I replace the Breitling bracelet with a leather or rubber strap?
Yes. Breitling uses standard spring bar fittings on all current models. Remove the bracelet with a spring bar tool, fit the spring bars into the new strap, and click into place. If you need a bracelet removal tool, we sell one here.

Can I fit a Breitling strap myself?
Yes. Most models use standard spring bars, making the swap straightforward at home using a spring bar tool. Quick-release spring bars require no tool at all — press the tab on the underside of the strap and the bar compresses manually. If you are swapping from a metal bracelet, use a dedicated [bracelet removal tool] rather than a standard spring bar tool to avoid scratching the lugs
