How to choose the right watch strap

Start with your lug width. That is the distance in millimetres between the inner edges of both lugs on your watch. Common sizes are 18mm, 19mm, 20mm, 21mm, 22mm, and 24mm. Every product page on this site lets you select your lug width before adding to cart. If you are unsure, measure with a ruler or check our brand-specific collection pages for a compatibility guide with reference numbers.

Then choose your material. Each material suits a different use, climate, and watch style.

Leather. The classic choice. Our Italian leather straps are handmade by Morellato in the Veneto region. Options include smooth calfskin for everyday refinement, embossed alligator for the look of exotic hide without the cost or import restrictions, and soft grain with nubuck lining for zero break-in comfort. Leather develops a patina with wear. It suits dress watches, chronographs, and any watch you want to dress up. Avoid prolonged water exposure.

Rubber (FKM). Waterproof, sweat-proof, UV-stable, and virtually indestructible in daily wear. FKM rubber is the material used by luxury brands on their factory sport straps. It handles everything from a desk job to a swimming pool without degrading. Our FKM rubber straps are available as plain rubber or as sailcloth-textured with a deployant clasp.

Sailcloth. A woven textile originally developed for marine use. Tightly woven synthetic fibres that resist water and UV while looking like fabric. Our sailcloth straps come with a pre-fitted deployant clasp for tool-free daily wear. The textured surface catches light in a way plain rubber cannot match. Available from 18mm to 24mm.

NATO and fabric. Single-pass woven nylon that threads under the watch for a secure, military-heritage fit. Lightweight, washable, and the most affordable way to change the character of a watch. Best on field watches, pilot watches, and sport watches.

Watch strap compatibility

Every strap on this site uses the standard spring bar fitment system. If your watch has two lugs with a removable bar between them, our straps fit. This covers Omega, Tudor, Rolex, Breitling, IWC, Panerai, Hamilton, Seiko, Tissot, TAG Heuer, Longines, Oris, Cartier, and hundreds of other brands.

The only watches that are not compatible are those with proprietary attachment systems (such as Apple Watch or fully integrated bracelet designs with no removable spring bar).

We stock straps in 18mm, 19mm, 20mm, 21mm, 22mm, and 24mm. If you know your lug width, shop by size: 18mm | 19mm | 20mm | 21mm | 22mm | 24mm

Watch Strap FAQ's

How do I find my lug width?

Measure the distance between the inner edges of both lugs on the back of your watch. Use a ruler with millimetre markings. Alternatively, check the brand-specific collection pages on this site where we list lug widths by model and reference number.

Do your straps come with spring bars?

Yes. Every strap ships with spring bars fitted or included.

What is a deployant clasp

A folding buckle that opens and closes in one motion. It distributes pressure evenly across the wrist and protects the strap from the wear that pin buckles cause over time. Once sized, the watch goes on and comes off with a single click. Our sailcloth and FKM deployant straps ship with the clasp pre-fitted.

What is the difference between FKM rubber and silicone?

FKM (fluoroelastomer) is denser, more UV-resistant, and more durable than standard silicone. It is the same compound used by Omega, Rolex, and Tudor on their factory rubber straps. It does not attract dust, does not discolour in sunlight, and holds its shape for years. We use FKM across our rubber range.

Can I engrave my strap?

Selected straps with deployant clasps offer complementary engraving. Up to three characters, laser engraved into the stainless steel. Choose your engraving at checkout
