MoonSwatch 1965 Engraved Rubber Woven Strap — "Flight Qualified"

An MGB Watches exclusive. The buckle on this strap carries a laser-engraved tribute to the most important date in Speedmaster history — "Flight Qualified – March 1, 1965" — the day NASA certified the Omega Speedmaster for all manned space missions. Set in a typewriter-style font that echoes the original NASA documentation. You won't find this engraving anywhere else.

The strap itself is a woven-texture rubber with curved edge construction, designed to sit flush against the MoonSwatch 1965's black Bioceramic case. Made from an advanced TPU rubber blend — lightweight, flexible, water-resistant, and UV stable. The brushed 304L stainless steel buckle and hardware add a secure, polished finish.

Available in four colours — each paired to work with the 1965's black case and red Flight Qualified chronograph hands. Choose your colourway above.

Also fits every other MoonSwatch model at 20mm, though the engraving and colour palette were designed specifically for the 1965 edition.

Why "March 1, 1965"?

On that date, NASA completed its qualification testing of the Omega Speedmaster ST 105.003 for extravehicular activity — making it the only watch certified for all manned space missions. Four years later, Buzz Aldrin wore a Speedmaster on the surface of the moon during Apollo 11. The MoonSwatch 1965 pays tribute to that certification, and this strap carries the exact date on the buckle. It's the detail that connects the £349 MoonSwatch to the watch that went to the moon.
