Jeep x Marathon: A Fusion of Heritage and Functionality

Jeep x Marathon: A Fusion of Heritage and Functionality

In a new all American collaboration that pays homage to their shared military roots and commitment to durability, Jeep and Marathon watches have joined forces to introduce four new timepieces. Each watch in this collection embodies the rugged, authentic spirit that defines both brands, reflecting their storied histories.

The History

Dating back to 1941, both Jeep and Marathon have played pivotal roles in supplying the Allied Forces with reliable equipment during times of conflict. This rich heritage serves as the cornerstone of the Jeep x Marathon collaboration, a tribute to their enduring legacy of service and innovation.

The Watches - Inspiration

This new collection of tool watches draws inspiration from two legendary vehicles that have left an indelible mark on American culture: the Jeep Willys MB; the first Jeep vehicle used by the U.S. military in World War II, and the modern Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. These iconic vehicles serve as inspiration behind the collection.

In this collaboration, Jeep and Marathon introduce two new models: the Jeep Rubicon and the Jeep Willy. Each model offers the choice between Automatic or Quartz movements, resulting in a total of four distinct watches in the collection.

Jeep Rubicon GSAR / TSAR

The 41mm Jeep RUBICON GSAR showcases a dial with a striking "red line" indicator, ingeniously repurposed as a 15 minute count up feature, reminiscent of Jeep dashboard instruments. Drawing inspiration from the Jeep Wrangler Limited Edition, the dial also features type treatments that evoke the rugged charm of this iconic vehicle.

Engraved on the side of the 316L steel case of both watches is the iconic seven slot Jeep grille, symbolising the brand's heritage, while the steel crown proudly bears the iconic Willys star.

On the stainless steel case backs, the watch is engraved with Jeep's lifestyle motto, "Go Anywhere, Do Anything," alongside essential technical details. Each timepiece is marked with the inscription "Since 1941," paying homage to the enduring military legacy shared by both brands, and adorned with a unique serial number and a bespoke Jeep x Marathon signature logo.

The watch boasts an oversized 60 minute 120 click unidirectional dive bezel and is engineered with a remarkable water resistance of 300m. Illuminating the dial and hands are tritium gas tubes ensuring clear visibility in low lighting conditions.

Depending on movement choice powering the 41mm GSAR version is a Swiss made Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement. The TSAR variant is powered by a Swiss made ETA quartz movement.

JEEP® WILLYS SSGPM / SSGPQ

The 41mm Jeep Willys range draws inspiration from the rich heritage of both Jeep and the original Marathon field watch, which saw service in 1941 among infantry and officers during ground operations. Crafted in Switzerland, this field watch pays homage to its historical roots with a hand wound 18 jewel mechanical movement.

This modern interpretation of the classic Marathon WWII issued dial brings a fresh perspective to tradition. Inspired by the iconic Jeep Wrangler 1941 Limited Edition, the dial features updated type treatments and a sleek black backdrop, accentuated by fully lumed arabic numerals for enhanced legibility.
