Pretty in Pink: The new Swatch x Blancpain Scuba Fifty Fathoms Pink Ocean

Pretty in Pink: The new Swatch x Blancpain Scuba Fifty Fathoms Pink Ocean

Following the phenomenal worldwide success of the Moonswatch collaboration with Omega, Swatch once again proved they know how to make waves in 2023. This time, they partnered with another powerhouse within the group—Blancpain—to reimagine an icon, the Fifty Fathoms. The outcome? The Swatch x Blancpain Fifty Fathoms collection a highly accessible Bioceramic watch inspired by Blancpain’s legendary dive timepiece, featuring an automatic movement that brings it closer to the heart of enthusiasts. After the first five colourful editions and an intriguing all-black Ocean of Storms, Swatch has now flipped the spectrum with their boldest release yet: the Swatch x Blancpain Scuba Fifty Fathoms Pink Ocean.

Here is a little history of releases for all 8 watches in the Swatch x Blancpain Scuba Fifty Fathoms collection:

Antarctic Ocean: 6th September 2023

Indian Ocean: 6th September 2023

Atlantic Ocean: 6th September 2023

Pacific Ocean: 6th September 2023

Arctic Ocean: 6th September 2023

Ocean of Storms: 11th January 2024

Blue Lagoon: 17th December 2024

Pink Ocean: 23rd January 2025

Has the Blancpain x Swatch collaboration lost steam?

The first 6 watches were widely publicised on social media and in store, this was following in the same footsteps as the Swatch x Omega MoonSwatch collection. There were multiple teaser posts on instagram to build the anticipation, followed by a final reveal and the release date. These first releases were a hit and garnered much attention which in-turn gave Swatch their ultimate goal...big queues, but this didn't last long and it seemed customers wanted to get back to MoonSwatch. The releases of the last two watches Blue Lagoon and Pink Ocean have been released online without any promotional activity from Swatch which leaves us very confused and thinking that these watches may not be doing so well for Swatch.

With that said, this watch is a design statement that holds no punches, we have not seen a watch in recent history that is this...Pink! The platform the watch is built on in our opinion is a good reliable platform. So, yes it won't be for everyone but this could be the perfect gift for that person who just can't get enough of Pink!

Comparing the Pink Ocean with Other Models in the Collection

All the models in the Fifty Fathoms collection have the same technical specifications, so is it all about the looks?

While the Pink Ocean undoubtedly grabs attention with its bold aesthetics, how does it stack up against its siblings in the Scuba Fifty Fathoms Collection? Each model is inspired by unique marine ecosystems, offering diverse designs and features that appeal to a wide range of tastes.

  • Antarctic Ocean: Known for its icy blue hues and minimalist design, it channels the serenity of the southernmost ocean.
  • Indian Ocean: A blend of warm tones and subtle contrasts, reflecting the vibrant biodiversity of its namesake.
  • Atlantic Ocean: With its deep navy case, it pays homage to the vast and mysterious waters of the Atlantic.
  • Pacific Ocean: A cheerful turquoise piece that embodies the tropical allure of the Pacific islands.
  • Arctic Ocean: A frosty white design symbolizing the pristine Arctic environment.
  • Ocean of Storms: The bold, all-black edition that exudes sophistication and strength.
  • Blue Lagoon: A serene turquoise watch, perfect for those who love understated elegance.

Each model brings its own personality to the table, but the Pink Ocean stands out as a daring and playful choice that challenges traditional norms.
