A Vintage-Inspired Daily Watch Built for Collectors
Among Omega’s heritage reissues, the Railmaster has always felt like a bit of a sleeper. Overshadowed by the more glamorous Speedmaster and Seamaster lines, the original 1957 Railmaster was quietly built for the working professional, engineers, scientists and railway workers, offering magnetic resistance long before that became a marketing point.
Now, in 2025, Omega has revisited the Railmaster once again. And what they've delivered is a compact, confident daily watch that feels as much at home in the modern collector’s rotation as it would have on a 20th-century rail line.
Built for the Everyday
The new Railmaster range features two core references, both housed in polished and brushed 38mm stainless steel cases, a nod to the proportions collectors have been calling for. The central seconds model (Ref. 235.10.38.20.06.001) comes with a textured grey to black gradient dial and crisp white Super-LumiNova. For those who lean more vintage in their preferences, the second reference (Ref. 235.10.38.20.13.001) swaps in a faded beige to brown dial and a small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock, adding a softer, more classical edge.
Both are powered by Omega’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibres, either the 8806 or the small seconds 8804, offering exceptional resistance to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss. As any collector who's dealt with demagnetisation will know, that’s not just for show. It’s a genuinely practical upgrade that keeps the watch ticking precisely no matter how tech heavy your daily environment is.
Subtle by Design
What stands out with the 2025 Railmaster isn’t a single bold element, it’s the harmony. The dial textures are rich but not flashy, the lume is legible without leaning too modern, and the case design (borrowed from the Aqua Terra) is compact, comfortable, and quietly stylish.
